Present: D. Watts, M. Watts, P. Miller, N. Thelemaque, N. Ladd Board Meeting Minutes - 2021-03-02 We discussed automotive related shops in our area and how it would be nice to get some of them to join. A few names were mentioned including Kimball’s Garage (change of names? – repair only, new business), Contoocook Automotive (Ray - gas station minor repairs), and Shook (body repair). It was also mentioned that there is a Shook plumbing and heating. Another category of potential members are hairdressers and barbers. Agenda discussions ensued. Recent donations: Meals on Wheels –70% of funds come from donations. Hopkinton PTA -will be using our logo to use in their media campaigns A short discussion on media campaigns – sending news of new members? – monthly / quarterly? It would be helpful if someone could focus on doing this. Brochure to print, likely done next week. Library handing out to new card folks…. can we get other libraries to do this? Nancy will reach out. Church? New pastor – summer people? Dan to contact pastor to see about distribution of KACC brochure. KACC has done well this past year due to our low expense budget. While the 2020 budget was a deficit, we had plenty of cash to handle this. With the CARES ACT management fee that we received, we have additional unplanned funds. We would like to target ways to invest some of these funds in our members and to promote our members. After the meeting Dan reviewed budget info which shows we have about $3,500 in annual expenses. Our annual membership income is about $9,500. That leaves $6,000 to be invested in promoting KACC and our members. Our bank account is at about $26,000. Sponsorships – Rail Trail – Tim Blagden to send 2021 drive info. There is a review of the next section in Warner in the library newsletter. There is a link (last month?) on the newsletter web pag. Nancy sends to 700 active borrowers and town positions – 200-300 newsletter openings per month. Musicians – support efforts to bring them back on line? – ask for a banner at Mainstreet Warner Inc? Mainstreet Warner board meeting 3rd week of the month? Dan to contact MSW. Artists? – sponsor a competition / link up artists with businesses? Nanette – Speaker/Musician/Panel/ breakout rooms with panelist (women’s org in MD, strictly for networking) Networking – elevator speech It was mentioned that Zoom has a transcription feature. Turns out KACC doesn't have this feature due to our license. KACC has the Pro license ($150/yr - actual cost $180/yr ; 100 participants) and doesn't qualify for transcription. We would need to bump up to the Business license ($200 - looks like actual cost is $600/yr? ; 300 participants) to get transcription.
