** Minutes for November 10, 2020 ** ** ZOOM Teleconference ** Board Present: Dan Watts, Nanette Thelamaque, Patrick Miller, Susan Daniel ** Others Present: Nancy Ladd, Rita Blanchard ** ** Minutes by: D.Watts + Virtual after hours - Nanette shared an outline for how Business After hours and Happy Hour meet-ups could be organized. + Membership is at 171. Some members have contacted us about economic hardship when renewing and we'ev dealt with these on a case by case basis. + KACC as part of the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Area Chambers (DLSR) will be receiving $13,412 as management fees for our part assisting in distributing CARES ACT funding to local businesses. + Discussion was had about paying D. Watts for time spent managing CARES ACT funding. Dan indicated that he would only invoice for time after KACC has received the management fee from the State. The hourly rate would be $45 which is the same amount that the primary contact chamber (UVBA) is paying their staff for the same tasks. Motion was made to pay D. Watts for time spent managing CARES ACT funding at $45. Motion was seconded. All present approved. Dan indicated that he would also send this question to the Board mailing list for completeness. + Discussion was had about purchasing a Zoom license. All agreed this would be worthwhile and we should proceed. Dan will review the different licenses for Meetings, Webinars, and Rooms and make the purchase. The plan is to use this for our monthly Board meetings, Business After Hours, Annual Meeting, and as a resource for members to use since many of our members do not have the budget to pay for a license. Nancy mentioned a useful tool for video conferencing, the Meeting Owl (https://owllabs.com/meeting-owl). This is a $1,000 device that provides for 360 degree camera, mic and speaker. This would be useful to bridge an in-person meeting with Zoom, FB Live, etc. + Annual Meeting will be via Zoom. Date and time TBD. * It is assumed that Board members with expiring terms will renew. * Due to the addition of additional Board members in 2020, we now have 6 exipring positions and 3 that expire at the end of 2021. It was discussed that we should stagger these positions. The plan will be to transition to 3 year terms. 3 of the expiring positions will be set to expire in 2 years, and 3 will expire in 3 years. At the end of 2021, the expiring positions will renew for 3 years. + The DLSR chambers are having a job fair on November 17 from 4-7pm. Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce is handling advertising for KACC. Will review the list of publications to see if there are others that we can suggest. Will add this event to Eventbrite. There is a Facebook event for this too. + Discussion was had about renewals. There are currently 28 memberships due for renewal. Of these 7 are 0-29 days past due; 16 are 0-29 days past due ; 7 are 30 days or more past due. It would be helpful if overdue members could be contacted to try and get the renewals comleted. To assist in this, the list of member benefits will be updated with the recent COVID 19 benefits. Offering discounted renewal rates was discussed as well as discounted new member rates. (Note that we currently have a COVID special of 18 month membership for all new members) + Discussion about creating a list of all open businesses listing their hours or special circumstances. ie, some businesses are only doing curbside pickup, or scheduling individual shopping appointments. Susan Daniel agreed to take on this task. + Discussion about KACC supporting holiday events. Specifically, Warner is discussing what they will be doing. Would KACC sponsor advertising? It was agreed this is a good idea. Additional decision making will be needed once details are provided by the Warner businesses. + Discussion that the next newsletter should highly the enhanced member benefits that KACC has been offering.
